Oak Canyon Nature Center
Oak Canyon Nature Center is a 58-acre natural park. The park is bisected by a year-round stream. Four miles of hiking paths traverse one of the few remaining regions of oak woodland and coastal sage scrub in our region, which is made up of three contiguous canyons. The canyon is home to native species that are just waiting to be discovered. The John J. Collier Interpretive Center, a small museum with live animals and regional natural history exhibits, is also on-site.

Great place for kids as they have little attractions here and there for them to play with. Lots of families go here. Free parking in this area, although it’s not that big a lot. “1.7 miles of walking/running/biking path around beautiful Walnut Canyon Reservoir. Lots of flowers and plants in the area. I walked to the reservoir area via Oak Canyon Nature Center after 25 mins hiking in Heritage Trail. However I believe there should be other ways to access to the reservoir. There is few seating areas, which you may use to enjoy the beautiful reservoir. No restrooms along the path. The path is stroller friendly. It is good for walking dogs as well.” – Hojjat Seyyedi

Anaheim Coves Trail is a beautiful 26-acre nature park that was created in cooperation with the Orange County Water District, Orange County Flood Control District, and Southern California Edison. The Coves, which opened in June 2019, are located between Ball Road and Frontera Street along the Santa Ana River. Yorba Regional Park
Yorba Regional Park has been designed to provide a large number of family and group picnicking opportunities. The park has around 400 picnic tables, many of which have permanent shade structures.
