Sagrada Sacred Arts
Sagrada Sacred Arts is a dealer of unique spiritual goods, meditation supplies, devotional arts and crafts, and books celebrating all spiritual traditions, serving their community in the center of Oakland since 1994. SAGRADA was born in a 100-year-old shack, an elderly stable for the Telegraph Avenue streetcar horses. When they were initiated in 1994, 49th Street was home to a few artist studios and some storage units.
Their 20×20-foot space had no front door – a haul on an old schoolhouse bell would bring them out to greet a customer at the rusty locked gate. They sometimes reflected if anyone would ever find them. They are fortunate to have represented the works of authors, artists, activists, and healers both on the bookstore shelves and sometimes gifting them in person.

Maison D’Etre
Maison D’Etre, the name, Maison d’Etre, indicates the store’s reason for being: to celebrate life at home. They believe the beauty and function of their homes and personal surroundings contribute to their wellbeing, trailing in consequence not at all distantly behind the very basics of life. Though people call in them for gifts, their attention is not on gifts per se, but rather to provide an exuberant array of wonderful things one can actually use in the home – on the table, in the kitchen, the bathroom, on the bed, for baby, body and more, with some assorted antique and modern pieces tossed in to enliven the mix.

Happy Trails Home
Happy Trails Home is the “grown-up” edition of the original Happy Trails. Once an edgy floor-to-ceiling American pop culture mecca, the new shop highlights a more modern tasteful with a floor-to-ceiling assortment of fun novelty gifts, retro-inspired goodies, used furniture, and vintage clothing. But don’t be tricked. There’s still an element of Happy Trails grittiness peppered around the new shop.
The shop continues to provide the same happy-go-lucky atmosphere and yes, free Bazooka bubblegum with every purchase. The primary location of Happy Trails opened for business in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco on April 1, 1994. The shop, created by Gretchen McMann, began as an American junk shop that offered classic furniture, retro housewares, and a floor-to-ceiling assortment of American pop culture for all ages.
