Der Biergarten
Der Biergarten Sacramento’s only German-style outdoor Beer Garden. They are also the first venue to use cargo containers to build it. Unluckily, the city leaders did not like the concept and made us hide them behind the board. Someone had to be first. They are not a traditional Biergarten but rather an urban Beer Garden. A place for people that live in Midtown Sacramento to come and relax over a great German Beer or other local beer.
They have 30 taps so there is always a revolving tap with a beer you will like. Sam’s Hof Brau
Sam’s Hof Brau, when restaurateur Sam Gordon started Sam’s Hof Brau in 1959, he had a precise idea of the irresistible appeal of homemade comfort food and great beer at value pricing. And although a change of ownership and elusive name changes over the years, the basic premise of the restaurant hasn’t been altered a bit. Sam’s Hof Brau and ten other restaurants established by the late Sam Gordon were acquired in the 1960s by the Denny’s Corporation, which started selling them off individually a few years later. In 1992, Pete Lennarz, who began working for Gordon as a teenager, bought the Watt and El Camino location and was decided to maintain its authenticity.

The food is very satisfying and down to earth, and of course, the huge menu of beer and cider is reason enough to come. 19 Handles has a slightly German flair and is also a touch Scottish.
