Swiss Hibiscus opened its doors in 2010, but Chef Martin Wyss’ legacy began much earlier in Wädenswil, Switzerland, where he was born. He selected cookery as his apprenticeship because he wanted to travel. He traveled the world before settling in Honolulu, Hawai’i, in 1964, after accepting a sous chef post at the Kahala Hilton Hotel. Chef Wyss left his position as Executive Chef at the Kahala Hilton Hotel after 18 years to pursue his dream of opening his own restaurant.
