Le Voltaire French Restaurant serves classical French cuisine and is regarded as one of Omaha’s finest restaurants. Le Voltaire, founded by Cedric and Desarae Fichepain in 2001, has become a fixture in Omaha’s gourmet dining scene. Wilson and Tonya Calixte took over as the new owners of the beloved institution in 2021. They’re looking forward to continuing to make the meals that made them renowned while adding new flavors and customers to the mix after twenty years.
Chef Wilson was born in a little hamlet outside of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and migrated to New York City as a child. After starting out as a dishwasher at a Soul Food restaurant when he was 18 years old, he was immediately moved to cooking after only three months. Chef Wilson was elevated to Executive Chef after three and a half years.

Dario’s Brasserie is a French-style cafe and bar that serves staples like moules frites as well as a large range of Belgian beers. Dario’s Brasserie is the realization of Dario and Amy Schicke’s long-held goal. Dario grew up in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, and fled when the Bosnian War broke out in 1992. He ended up in Germany, where he met Amy, a Nebraska native from Kearney.

Au Courant Regional Kitchen prepares “New European” dishes with a focus on local products in a cheerful and welcoming ambiance. The 6-course chef’s tasting menu, which changes weekly and can be seen under the “Menu” button, is their specialty. In this intimate setting, they offer private and semi-private dining. The physical location is often referred to as the “home,” and the staff is referred to as the “family,” and they would be delighted to welcome you there. At a live oak table made by the chef, they provide semi-private seating for groups of up to 12.

La Buvette Wine & Grocery
La Buvette Wine & Grocery is a one-of-a-kind wine bar and grocery store in Omaha’s Old Market neighborhood. They have a French menu, a bar, a store, freshly baked bread, and a large wine collection. La Buvette has been a reflection of the diverse Old Market area since its owners, Mark and Vera Mercer, founded the café in 1991, inviting inhabitants young and old to social gatherings and personal chats.
They have a two-part menu: one that is available every day and the other that contains daily specials. They provide a variety of meals that are unique to Omaha, such as Boeuf Bourguignon and roasted beets with goat cheese, anchovies, and house vinaigrette.
