Cleveland Public SquareExperiences in Cleveland

Cleveland Public Square has served as the city’s centerpiece since 1796. It was initially intended to be the public area of a typical New England-style town and act as a hub for social interaction. It has accomplished this during the past 200 years or more. In Public Square, people have come to commemorate the end of wars, lament the passing of presidents like Abraham Lincoln, and celebrate innovations like the introduction of the first electric streetlight. Additionally, it is the location of several of Cleveland’s most beloved monuments, such as the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Moses Cleaveland Statue, and the Mayor Tom L. Johnson Statue.

Public Square has traditionally been Cleveland’s transportation center in addition to being a park and gathering area. Before trolleys and trains, there were horses and buggies, and now there is a mix of cars, public transportation, and pedestrians. Public Square has experienced almost a dozen changes over the years, from the town green to the memorial park to the transportation center to the mixed-use area it is now. Public Square serves as the only constant and serves as the hub of Cleveland.

REVIEWS:

“Definitely should pay a visit to the square if you happen to be in Cleveland. The Christmas/new year lightings were still there when we visited in January. Just beautiful. The area was pretty quiet day and night, and the frequent presence of police patrol gave us a sense of safety even late in the evening. Surrounding the square there are a few places to visit, including the Tower City Center, the Arcade, and many restaurants.” – Gary F.

The Cleveland Museum of ArtTop Experiences in Cleveland

The Cleveland Museum of Art was established in 1913 for the benefit of all people forever. They take great pride in being one of the most renowned and extensive art museums in the world as well as one of the most important civic and cultural organizations in northeastern Ohio. After several years of preparation, the museum finally debuted on June 6, 1916. Cleveland businessmen Hinman B.

Hurlbut, John Huntington, and Horace Kelley all left money in their estate plans, particularly for an art museum, which enabled its establishment. These founders’ endowments still provide funding for the museum. Hubbell & Benes, a Cleveland-based architectural firm, created the original white Georgian marble neoclassical structure, which cost $1.25 million to build. The Wade Lagoon to the north serves as the centerpiece of the city’s Fine Arts Garden.

“Beautiful place. Many different exhibits to enjoy for free. At this time you must wear a mask(no big deal they offer free ones if you forget). Great collection of Armour, swords, and other artifacts from that Era. Lots 0f really cool Hindu and Buddhist carvings, tablets, and sculptures. The second time going spent some time walking through the parks leading to the museum is definitely also worth the effort. Will definitely make time to go again if I’m anywhere close. Loved it.” – Frederick R.

Cleveland Museum of Natural HistoryExperiences Cleveland

Cleveland Museum of Natural History is a natural history museum that is situated in University Circle, a 550-acre complex of educational, cultural, and healthcare institutions, about five miles east of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. At the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, they think that the process of discovery begins with the individual. Making lasting memories while exploring amazing exhibits, getting up close and personal with wild creatures, hiking, and taking classes is all possible.

Through the Natural Areas Program, they preserve 12,000 acres beyond the Museum property. Each preserve is home to at least one distinct ecological community. Surprise outside animals and walkway got the kids some exercise. Would definitely go again and recommend it. Kids also enjoyed the life-sized Stegosaurus outside.” – Jan T.

“I thoroughly enjoyed it. We missed the shark feeding but all in all, it’s a nice alternative to going to the zoo where you may never make it up the hill to the aquarium. Here you are up close and personal with the fish and sharks. You can even touch the stingray. I had a blast for my 50th birthday today at the Aquarium.” – Kay K.

The Children’s Museum of ClevelandOne of the best Experiences in Cleveland

The Children’s Museum of Cleveland is a top family and kid-friendly destination in Northeast Ohio. A group of parents, educators, and community leaders founded the Children’s Museum of Cleveland in 1981 with the goal of offering educational activities and programs in elementary school classrooms. After leaving its prior position on Euclid Avenue, CMC launched its first physical location in 1986.

The seclusion and exclusivity of their own facility have been a benefit to young children since 1986, enabling them to freely explore, touch, and learn about their environment. The CMC is the only museum in the area that focuses only on early childhood education. Through its cutting-edge facility, events, and educational programs, CMC provides services to close to 200,000 people annually on average.

The Museum is aware of its community leadership position in early childhood education and its duty to help create a world that is more compassionate and equitable for all. They have collaborated with regional leaders at Cleveland State University’s Diversity Institute to provide materials to assist families in having discussions on racial equity and racism. In order to further this learning and continue the conversation, CMC also offers interactive sessions for kids and workshops for parents and other caregivers.
