Takoi, formerly KATOI, began as a food truck in 2014 owned and operated by Chef Brad Greenhill, evolved into an Ann Arbor pop-up, and landed as a proper restaurant at 2520 Michigan avenue Detroit in march of 2016. KATOI was carried again down to earth when it was subjected to arson in February 2017 after being established for 11 months, they had a slew of fun, and garnering a handful of awards include James Beard’s best new restaurant in the year 2017 nomination.

The day following the fire accident, the reconstruction started, and they established as TAKOI precisely six months subsequently in August 2017.
