Danspace
Danspace was established by Beth Hoge in 1979. After her professional career in New York, she had an idea for a school that would provide ballet lessons that would not overwork the ordinary body. The school was founded in order to encourage adults of all ages to take up classical ballet as a hobby. Danspace teaches a clean, mannerism-free classical style that emphasizes musicality, artistry, line purity, balance, and coordination, all of which contribute to enhanced flexibility and strength.
This method is taught by dedicated and acknowledged professionals in the fields of ballet, modern, jazz, and creative movement, and it contains the necessary ingredients to improve and expand one’s natural vocabulary of movement. Dimensions Dance Theater
Dimensions Dance Theater is an Oakland-based African American dance organization and school. Deborah Vaughan, the co-founder, is in charge of the artistic direction. DDT is well-known for presenting traditional dances as well as contemporary choreography inspired by African, jazz, and modern dance styles. DDT’s repertoire range and inclusion are unique to the organization and have substantially contributed to its reputation for innovative dynamism.

New Style Motherlode Studio
New Style Motherlode Studio is the first Hip Hop dance studio in the Bay Area. Trilliant Studios
Trilliant Studios is a dance studio in Oakland that offers dance courses, special events, dancing workshops, and private parties. They are a dance studio dedicated to providing the highest level of instruction available in the Bay Area. Several different dance organizations used to consider Trilliant Studios “home.” The Oakland Ballet used to call this location home, and Linden St. Dance Studio eventually took over.
