Lore’s Chocolates was put up by the Walter family 30 years ago. The family headed by Tony Sr. had almost a hundred years of experience in making chocolates. Tony Sr. previously worked with Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews and numerous prominent brands in the chocolate industry. He went on to lead the purchase of the factory later which serves as Lore’s manufacturing area today. Lore’s chocolate is said to be a good chocolate karma. The craftsmanship that the people behind it is amazing and thus reflects on the taste of their sweet treats. Nowadays, the two generations of Walter family, Tony Sr. and Tony Jr. oversee the daily operation.

Shane Confectionery used to be housed in the oldest candy shop in America. The area was sold by its previous owner Barry Shane in 2010. Anthony’s Italian Coffee & Chocolate House, holds the secret of a colorful family history. The proprietor Anthony Anastacio came from a family of fishermen and merchants. Pure determination and hard work enabled his family to survive the great depression. By the year 1980, a trip to Italy sparked Anthony’s interest in cafe culture. He came back to Philadelphia and established the coffee shop on April 21, 1995. For 50 years it served as a pioneer coffee house modelled from the Italian coffee culture. With the shop’s success, he later added a Chocolate House. It served decadent hand made chocolates and gelato. They made it from the finest quality of beans, grounded expertly to create a perfect chocolate finish.
