Piety and Desire Chocolate

Piety and Desire Chocolate

Piety and Desire Chocolate offers  products that are as fresh as they get since they only utilize the highest quality, regional ingredients and never add preservatives or artificial flavors. For the same reasons that a fine bottle of wine costs more than Franzia, our chocolate is more expensive. First off, they acquire all of our cacao through Direct Trade directly from farmers, cooperatives, or producers or through what some refer to as Conscious Trade, through a distributor who buys Direct, which means they pay 3–4 times the price of cacao as a commodity and at purportedly “fair trade” prices. By doing this, farmers are guaranteed fair compensation for their products, which in turn guarantees a consistently high-quality final product.

“Stopped in on the way back to our hotel. We got a couple of chocolate covered strawberries and a handmade turtle (the first one I’ve ever had that was actually shaped like a turtle). Both were delicious. I’m not usually fond of caramel apples but I would be willing to try one from here after having the caramel from the turtle. So good!” – Tina Lacy
