REVIEWS:

“Had an early lunch and I think was the first customer of the day. Really nice service and some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. The star of the day was the Orange Peel Beef. Just perfect. One of the best versions I have ever had. We also loved the whole shrimp roasted with garlic and pepper, Kung Pao Squid, and BBQ Pork Fried Rice. But the winner was the orange beef. This is now our go-to Chinese place on O’ahu.” – John E.

Lam’s KitchenTop Chinese Restaurants in Honolulu

Lam’s Kitchen is a Chinese noodle shop in Honolulu’s Chinatown that is operated by a family, specializing in beef chow fun, won ton min, Cheong fun rolls, and beef flank and tendon look fun. The family missed the nostalgic taste of beef flank steak from Guangdong, China, after relocating to Hawaii. They wanted to convey the original flavor and texture of the fun to everyone in Hawaii. In 2002, the family opened Lagoon Chinese Restaurant near the airport, which was its first restaurant. They were able to open their second family restaurant, Lam’s Kitchen, in Honolulu’s Chinatown, in 2009 after years of hard work and learning via experience. To please its loyal customers, they continue to make it look fun every day.

“The best beef and tendon soup ever. I get the dish without soup because it has more flavor but the beef is so soft it melts in your mouth. They look funny, which is a must-order with your dish, is homemade, super soft, and seriously the best. Also, add wontons to the dish if you’re not allergic to shrimp because their wontons are so simple yet so good. Best wontons I’ve had in Hawaii.” – Amy G.

“One of the best I’ve tried in Chinatown, and that’s saying something. While the surrounding area is rather dingy, the restaurant is clean and bright. A friend arranged dinner for a group of 20 of us, and so we took up two tables with no issue. The menu selection was pre-arranged and everything I tasted was awesome, favorites were the lettuce wrap and fried pork chops.” – Therese H.
