“I have been coming here for years and no two visits are ever quite the same. The gardens are tranquil, each offering different pops of color throughout the year. Perhaps the most beautiful time to go is during autumn when the leaves are beginning to turn. The bright greens of summer transform into stunning shades of red, yellow, orange, and brown.” – Emily Rose Barr

Druid Hill Park

Druid Hill ParkDruid Hill Park is Baltimore’s first significant municipal park and one of America’s first large public parks. It is the third-oldest park in the country. Druid Hill Park is 745 acres in size. Druid Hill Park’s history dates back over two centuries, when the Susquehannock Indians gave Lord Baltimore land in 1652, which included the park’s acreage and holdings. It is thought that the Native Americans chose this location because of its proximity to the Jones Falls stream and other springs. Following that, Lord Baltimore began to divide the land into parcels.
