Matt’s BBQ
Matt’s BBQ serving Texas-style BBQ from their permanent food truck at 4233 N Mississippi Ave since 2015. The day’s meats are cooked on an offset smoker with oak wood. While they usually stick to their advertised hours, their most popular things sell out quickly, so don’t be surprised if you can’t buy brisket at 6 p.m. on a Saturday. Same-day orders are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, while there is a pre-order option for those who plan ahead.

“ Excellent service, excellent food, and excellent atmosphere” – Brice C.
Dinner Bell Barbecue
Dinner Bell Barbecue the city’s largest food cart pod launched in downtown Portland in March of 2017. The lot was to be developed in order to build Portland’s first five-star hotel a little over two years later, which was devastating news. Fortunately, a new opportunity sprang up near the Laurelhurst and North Tabor areas in northeast Portland.
The Flying Tortoise food cart pod is a welcome change from the bustling downtown site, with covered seating, restrooms, and handwashing facilities. They are excited to continue their adventure of studying classic southern comfort meals and reinterpreting them in the Dinner Bell Barbecue style at our new, more permanent venue. Throughout the year, they will provide daily and seasonal specialties in addition to their main menu.
