Mariposa Baking CompanyTop Bakeries in Oakland

Mariposa Baking Company‘s first few years were spent in a shared kitchen in West Berkeley, California. Their batches grew too big for those ovens, so in 2006 they built a new place to rest their wings, a committed gluten-free kitchen in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland, California. This certified green bakery also houses its first retail bakeshop. In 2009, they fluttered to a second home, a Kiosk in San Francisco’s Ferry Building.

Mariposa’s presence in this food purveyors’ paradise allowed them to bring daily bread and handmade treats to San Francisco’s gluten-free community. Two and a half years later, they migrated South in the Ferry Building and started Mariposa’s SF Bakeshop, est. 2012.
